Wheated bourbons are more popular now than ever before. That’s a great thing, because I find them more developed, nuanced and creamy in the mouth–all good traits. They’re made from mixing wheat into the corn mash bill instead of Rye. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few Wheated Bourbons from Kentucky, like Pappy Van Winkle, Weller, and Old Fitzgerald. Needless to say, those are some of the finest whiskeys made anywhere in the world. I’m telling you, the folks at Castle & Key are WELL ON THEIR WAY to joining this list.
